This architecture designed by planning to harmony with landscape such as the view of ocean and city from the center of Sunken which across the ground by horizontal form and designed bridge connected to ground naturally. Also, it satisfies three functions fist of all, morphological function that connects the two buildings away from second, landscape function that people can enjoy the view of sea, city and sky and lastly, meaningful function is to provide people for community field. The empty space becomes change into the culture and art space to provide for all through the city and nature by the Opera House and it acts as the transition space between regions in urban areas. People can be able to promote cooperate identity by community field and as well as culture life in cultural island that coexistence of nature and art.
Busan located at the southern end of the Republic of Korea, it is a major gateway toward the Pacific Ocean and major geographical connection to Eurasian continent. We are planning to establish the 'marine arts and culture district' which is containing Busan’s fragrance and it promotes functional recovery and activation of the local economy. At the same time, managed rest space such as eco-friendly and citizen-friendly space which maximize Busan’s strong points that surrounded by natural environment like the ocean and the mountain. In addition, maximize cultural and artistic activities which include cultural complex functions by the variety of transportation and Busan KTX (Korea Train Express) that lead to wide mobility and organic connection with other regions. Make conjunction with continent to continent and continent to ocean to securing a base for international marine tourism and cultural city. Finally, Busan will develop the capital of marine tourism.
Busan Opera House which placed in ‘marine cultural district’ lead our feet into the cultural island by the song of surf on ocean, people can forget the desolate city life that coexistence of nature and art. The architecture designed our expects of cultural wave by accepting of different cultures and spread out our unique culture like the ocean made by gathering in flow of streams. In addition, the architecture achieves coolness and a natural harmony with the ocean by the elevation pattern like sparkling waves in a sunny ocean.
Opera House constructed by motivation of water crown that happens by one drop in still waters. Besides the art and culture, the unique traditions and local culture, exchange of community and it makes organic relationship between city and nature are promotes a newculturalwaves.
To creates a natural influx of people towards to the ocean by roads that leading to 'complex marine cultural island' from the city. Divide into two masses for separate spaces in two buildings and then make a bridge to connect between each masses to create organic moving ways.
